Amaryllis, Ammocharis, Boophone, Brunsvigia, Nerine

Seedlings/offsets available from 1$ each

Ammocaris coranica TopCreate wish list to remember item
This is what everyone asks me for. The strap like leaves lie almost flat upon the ground. Pink to reddish flowers appear in early summer and last for up to 20 days. The bulb needs to be kept dry in winter. Plant deep with only the neck tip exposed. Has some frost hardiness. Very limited.

Minimum size 120 mm circumference.

$10.00 each
Amaryllis belladonna TopCreate wish list to remember item
These multiflora clones have made their way around the world and are now back in South Africa. Often called Bidwill hybrids, they are far more robust than the wild clones. Flower colours are unnamed but include white, pink and red. Winter flowering and need to be kept dry in summer. Flowers in autumn. Somewhat limited stock.

Minimum size 100 mm circumference.

$6.40 each
Boophone disticha TopCreate wish list to remember item
The Century Plant seems to take that long to reach flowering size (which is the size we sell), but in fact it only takes 5-7 years from seed to flower. The flowers come before the leaves and in early to mid spring. The stems are about 450 mm in length and the 30-50 starry flowers are from light to dark red. Another flower to stay away from if you suffer from Hay Fever. Plant half exposed in a sunny spot. Has some frost hardiness. The bulb is used by some native tribes as a poison.

Minimum size 150 mm.

$16.00 each
Nerine filifolia TopCreate wish list to remember item
This strongly flowered Nerine displays its colourful beauty in early autumn. It produces up to 19 flowers (average 12 flowers per stem) on a stem that can reach 600 mm in length. Lasts for up to 14 days in a vase. Plant deep in sandy soil. This Nerine has a high degree of frost hardiness and enjoys damp conditions in summer.

Minimum 35 mm in circumference.

$2.40 each
