CLIVIA

Seedlings/offsets available from $1 each

Clivia miniata
Clivia are shade loving bulbs that enjoy being well fed in spring and summer. These plants are of mixed parentage and all show strong signs of natural vigour. All plants have flowered at least once and the flowers range from light to dark orange, from white centres to yellow and many have yellow Clivia as a pollen parent. These are mature flowering nursery bred plants of at least 5 years of age.
Plants have at least 8 leaves and are always more than 400 mm in length.
$12.00 each

Clivia gardenii
Clivia gardenii has the most robust leaves of all the species. Many plants are well over 500 mm in length and have over 10 leaves per plant. The flowers are smaller than that of miniata but are red / orange with a green tip that fades as the flower matures. As with all Clivia, it enjoys growing in a rich humus and manure medium. Plant in a shady but well draining spot and protect from frost.
These are mature flowering nursery bred plants of at least 6 years of age.
$16.00 each

Clivia caulescens
Clivia caulescens has a pseudo-stem that can reach one metre in length in mature plants. Like all Clivia it hates having the roots waterlogged and enjoys shade. These are mature flowering plants of at least 5 years of age.
Minimum length 350 mm.
$12.00 each

Clivia miniata var citrina
This yellow form was first discovered by Col. Saunders in 1888 in the forests near Eshowe in Zululand (just behind the house I was raised in). The Saunders yellow is now in Japan under cultivation with the name Vico Yellow. Since then many more colonies have been discovered (at least 5). Many breeders have improved upon the originals and we are proud to offer a limited number of flowering sized bulbs. All bulbs are nursery cultivated and are at least 5 years old.
Minimum length 350 mm.
$40.00 each
